Project Overview

This project involved building a web application primarily using Django (Python) for the backend and MySQL as the database. I was responsible for around 70% of the frontend development and 20% of the backend work.

The frontend was designed using SCSS for efficient styling and responsiveness, alongside libraries like jQuery, jQueryUI, Lenis and GSAP for smooth animations and transitions. Swiper was used to implement interactive carousels, enhancing the user experience. Additionally, Google Translator was integrated to support multilingual functionality, ensuring accessibility for a broader audience.

One key feature of the project was the integration of Mapbox for map-based visualization in the first iteration. However, due to performance concerns (it made the website heavy), we decided to remove Mapbox from the final implementation.

This project showcased a blend of frontend and backend development with a focus on performance optimization and user experience.
